The Magnificent Maple
There are many gifts that Nature bestows upon us; the breathtaking thunder of a waterfall, the heady scent of a rose, the fluffy, cotton clouds riding the horizon...We are blessed here in the Northeast by the annual chameleonic occurrence referred to as the changing of the leaves.
The birch adapts the colour of golden silk reflected off the creamy, white bark and the mighty oak bears shades of yellow through orange... but nothing is as vibrant as the magnificent maple.
The maple shows its glory in every shade and hue imaginable from the spectrum of red.
Apple red that first tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden...Deep red reminiscent of the ruby lips of a sweet lass translucent against her lilly white skin...Dark crimson from shades of the battlefield left upon the grass...
Instilled by cooler nights and shorter daylight the majestic maple makes her transition from the summer costume of green, setting forth a montage of red that has changed little throughout the passage of time...

Thank you for visiting my Familiar Spirits blog. I've had such a nice visit here. Your blog is enchanting. I look forward to visiting again.
Oh I agree. No tree is lovelier in autumn. We have several surrounding our cottage and when their leaves turn orange, our rooms simply glow.
Wow, I can hardly believe how beautiful the colors of fall look on your blog. They take my breath away. We are pretty dry here in the west so your pics were very refreshing.
During all the years we lived in Ontario, September and October were my favorite months. I even remember specific trees - a beautiful pale red maple at the end of the street, a scarlet one at the edge of the park. We don't really see the change of colour here on the west coast - thank you for the lovely reminder and photos.
how beautiful...i haven't noticed the trees changing much here yet...you are a little north of me...maybe that's the difference...
Just lovely . . . These photos are healing to the soul.

How beautiful! I love the colors of Fall! As much as I miss the colorful autumns from my childhood up north, the maples in the south make autumns colorfully beautiful:).
Blessings,
Kim
Susan...absolutely stunning images you have shown us here...Ahhh...Autumn, my second favourite Season. Summer and Autumn are my 2 absolute favourties...Enjoy all that Beauty...it's just magic...Have a beautiful Sunday...Dzintra♥x
I am so envious. Here on the Pacific Coast we do not get those rich colours you have out east. One day I hope to travel down the east coast of Canada and the USA during the Fall so I see the beautiful colours you enjoy. Such lovely photos!

Thanks for bringing a little Autumn color to Southern Texas. :)
hey Miss Maddie......thanks for stopping in at my blog...I seem to have not enough hours while reno-ing over here..... hopefully by mid October, I'll have more blog surfing time and get around to visiting more....
a friend gave us some Maple Butter ... I am not sure what it really is... as it says on the label it has no fat in it...so, I guess it has no butter in it..but, it sure is tasty on toast!! What great colour those trees in your photos have ...
You are so fortunate to live in an area where the changing of the seasons is so prevelent. It has always been my wish to visit Vermont in the Fall. I do hope that I can do this in this lifetime. Living in Oregon we have a bit of a change in color but it is mostly green. Your blog and your Photos are lovely. I will return. Please visit me at mine.

Oh how stunning those trees are. I love the red most of all. I've always wished I could visit the east in the fall. Somehow those forests of vibrant color just says "Fall" the best. Thank you for this treat.
