Baskets

A tisket a tasket I do love a basket...

Both functional and decorative, baskets have been with us down through the centuries, actually for as long as mankind.

Serving many a purpose, bringing out the laundry,

holding flowers in the garden,

Toting purchases at an outdoor antique faire,

Knitting,

Or a reminder of history...

And of course a perfect place for a nap.

Baskets, antique little girls' cotton dresses early 1870's from my personal collection.

Knitting in the TV room, cross stitch in the living room, magazines by the tup, laundry in the laundry room, glossy magazines in the guest room, primroses on the veranda - all in baskets. I love a basket too!

nothing like a pretty basket ...I'm filling one today with eggs from my hens to take to my Aunt's 80th celebration. She said no presents but I can't go empty handed !
I love the dresses with wee baskets

what pretty baskets!

you have some fine ones in use here...I especially love the little basket hanging from the little dress.

I hope your days are becoming warm and flowers enough to fill all your pretty baskets.

Susan I love all your baskets and the pictures of all your baskets! I am really loving that chippy chair in your garden too. I have a couple in mine, but they aren't as chippy cool as this. I guess a few more winters on them and they might be, huh? I love the kitty sleeping basket best of all.

Dear Susan...funny thing about baskets, I'm sure most of us love them for holding our special treasures in...What interesting little baskets hanging off the little hook on the hanger of the dress...I've not seen that before!!! A great post Susan...Have a wonderful Spring Sunday, Dzintra♥x

Great post Susan. I love all your baskets, but your laundry basket is my favorite in this post. I have a few treasured baskets too, but am currently looking for just the right laundry basket. Each weekend I've been combing the flea markets and yard sales... so far it the right one has eluded me, but I'll find it! (: xxxVicki

What gorgeous baskets. I particularly like the Shaker style one. I have a soft spot for baskets too - function and beauty made into such pleasing shapes. The kitty in the basket is too cute! I love your old rickety chair. I have a bench in the garden which is halfway rickety (I'm working on it getting even more so) and my hubby thinks I'm quite mad keeping it. He has no idea ...!

Hi Susan,
I love baskets too. I fill mine with many projects I am working on, and of course, some are just for sleeping.
Love this post!!

I love baskets too! They make a room cozier and they make storage so pretty-especially with a napping kitty inside:).

Blessings,

Kim
