Strangely enough the word wistful follows wisteria for definitions in the dictionary...
The beautiful blue flowers dangling delicately across the arbour does fill one full of yearning.
Standing beneath its massive expanse, having grown for more than 50 years in this very spot allows one to focus not only on its grace but to consider all the pleasures it has witnessed and that have come to pass in the garden which lies at the end of its boughs.
Like most of the pleasures in Nature standing alongside the memories of our everyday lives...

Beautiful arbour. It feels befitting that wisteria follows wistful - I could dream for hours under such a peaceful, fragrant canopy - just lovely ... and so is your sweet sleeping kittie.

I'll have to enjoy your wisteria while I wait for mine to bloom. We have a beautiful wisteria, but we are high enough up that it doesn't bloom until June.

I absolutely adore wisteria and this is a beautiful specimen. I could see quiet moments sitting under its delicate, fragrant blooms on a warm spring day. Just lovely!
For years, when I lived in the higher elevations of Oregon I used to long to grow Wisteria... but alas, it was just too cold in my clime... until we moved to California. Now I have one Wisteria that's only two years old, and has a long way to go before it looks like your gorgeous arbor. I love the idea that your arbor holds the memories of pleasures witnessed for more than 50 years. If only plants could talk... xxxVicki

Susan, that is the most beautiful wisteria vine I have seen! I can imagine the continuous buzzing of bees while it is in bloom. I love to stand near mine while the bees are buzzing all around.

I just love wisteria. It's one of those magical, inspiring bower plants that seems to burst from seemingly 'dead' woody stems to produce the most beautiful delicate blooms and leaves. It's beautiful! So is kitty! Hope you are enjoying the weekend. Ros
Absolutley beautiful! When I was pregnant with my first daughter, a mama robin made her nest in the wisteria that surrounded our home. She built her nest on the underside of the vines, which happened to be right outside the big picture window. We got to see the babies hatch and grow up, just by sitting in our living room.
The sight of it, just makes me sigh big time Susan. beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful! Wisteria is always something I've wanted to attempt growing and never seem to do. Perhaps this shall be the year.

The Wisteria is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have never seen or smelled Wisteria in my life. I have only seen it in pictures!! I am not sure if we can grow here in Wiscomsin, but i am going to find out.
