The sunflowers are blooming in my garden
and down there in the lush green vines lie the beginnings of plump pumpkins, soaking up the rain water and basking in the sunshine...
One of my readers had inquired about a flower I had shown in a previous post.
They are called Goosenecks... small wonder why.

The farmer's are working on their second cutting of hay already around here! Unfortunately, its been so hot and dry that everything else is suffering and is drying out. It's hard to notice subtle changes in conditions like this...

The first time I had seen Goosenecks was in a Tasha Tudor book and I fell in love! : )
After a slow start, we are now in our dry season. Hay was cut two weeks ago and there will be at least one more cutting. Already, though, I notice that the days are shortening - not enough to spoil the summer feeling, of course, but enough to remind me that we are moving towards August.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful flowers. I had never seen goosenecks before; they are enchanting.

Oh I just love seeing your beautiful part of Canada. The landscape there is breathtaking and I always have wanted to visit. Seeing that gorgeous barn sitting there in the background with the bales of fresh baled hay, seems so nostalgic somehow.
I hope your week ahead is a great one. You will soon be making pumpkin pie, I think!

Hi Susan...we too over here can see the subtle changes in the landscape...our jonquils are out...and the dark at just after 5pm isn't so dark!!! Pumpkins and all the winter vegies are abundant...Those jonquils just remind me that Spring is on her way...Dzintra♥x
