The passage of time and the changing of the seasons is part of our everyday lives...
Not far from where I live stands a mighty sugar maple tree,
recognized to be the oldest of its kind in the entire country of Canada.
Massive in size, one can only imagine all she has witnessed and survived...
Maddie seems intrigued by the fact that this spot makes a wonderful place to ponder all the maple syrup the tree would have produced to smother pancakes over the centuries...

Nothing says 'Ontario' to me like a massive maple tree. I miss them out here, where the maples are Japanese maples - small and dainty and sterile.
Lovely photos - and a very sweet and spooky header!
Beautiful blog, posts and music! Karmen
I love big old trees! And pure maple syrup. No fake syrup for me. Miss Maddie is so sweet.
Hi Susan,
What a Beautiful old tree and oh how wonderful that maple syrup must be.
Tree's that old are rare these days. In my brother's yard stands a mighty old oak tree. it takes two people to hug around that old tree. She is failing and it will be a said day when she is gone. Until then we will cherish her.
Happy Autumn and God Bless,
Julie

Such a lovely post...it evokes treasured memories of childhood... jumping into great heaps of newly raked leaves from a sugar maple in the front yard. Indeed, each and every tree has a story to tell if we listen closely.
Autumn blessings to you,
Judy
Oh my, what a gorgeous tree! I love the majestic ancient trees that tower over us like guardians. I also love your new banner! Maddie is such a cutie:)!
Blessings,

what a beautiful tree and the setting is perfect.
No wonder Maddie liked it so much.
We had a wonderful tree in the next town over too that they tried to save. After much trying and many years of taking care of it, the tree unfortunately died. A sad event.
I love your Halloween Header!!!!!!!!!
Happy Fall,
Evi
PS. You are right about color. Any color that you like is the perfect color, though most people have a favorite color I think.
How lovely to have such a gem of a tree close-by, we don't have any Maple-syrup from our trees in England. At least non that I'm aware of, and I LOVE it on my pancakes, I keep some in my fridge constantly.

ps I love the near blog-header.
What a great old tree! Oh and to have the last name of Comfort!
Oh Maddie is so sweet!
Thank you Susan for your uplifting words at my blog. The imagery they convey is so warm and comforting as is the majestic and well-named Comfort Maple in your post. Wonderful!
