Inevitable

The early morning dew along the banks of the river has been replaced by the glistening of frost...

The vines along the fence stand naked to the wind...

The sky seems bluer and the clouds are dancing in from the north...

November is upon us and thoughts turn to warmth by the fireside and keeping one's hands busy...

transforming beautiful yarn with the rhythmic repetition of a simple stitch harmonized by the clicking of the needles into something that borders on the edge of decadence...

* A snood for the cool November winds.
* A shawl I'm working on in mohair.

Both pieces on your needles look very cosy. What yarn are you using for the snood?
Your landscape is changing, isn't it? We haven't had snow here, or even a need to scrape the car windows, but a very bad winter is predicted, so we have been buying ice melt, checking the shovel situation and draining the outside pipes. I love the drawing in that the colder weather encourages.

Stunning phptographs and words! Both are always so carefully chosen. Your knitting is beautiful and both garments will keep you warm and cosy. I love the colours of the snood! Have a good week. Ros

the first show is over and I am doing one of my favorite things, catching up on all the wonderful blogs I love. Looking at your beautiful pictures makes me want to curl up with a good book or watching a beloved movie. Well that will have to wait for a little longer.
That wool throw looks heavenly warm and cozy. Is all the wool in the cabinet yours? Just gorgeous! The rabbit made me smile....just love them.
Had no snow yet, but came mighty close.
With warm thoughts,
Evi

Jack Frost has come to remind us the long, dark nights are approaching fast. But, before you know it, Spring will be back!

I so wish I were handy with needles, either knitting or crochet, but, it's not meant to be. I'll just have to enjoy others works of fiberous beauty!

Winter comes around so quickly there Susan, so obvious from the change in your vine. It is just grey and rainy here, and blue skies elude us. I love blue skies and they make the winter landscape so beautiful. I really love your first picture and your snood looks so cosy.

Keep warm.

The cold weather is indeed creeping in on the North...perfect for a bit of handwork surely. I can just hear the clicking of your needles...such a lovely sound. Rather like the whoosh of my shuttle on the loom. There is something very comforting and cosy about working with yarn and threads. Particularly when one is able to cuddle beneath a knitted shawl as the work progresses!

Thank you for another lovely post Susan.

Warmly,
Judy

Wonderful frosty photos, and I love your knitting projects! I'm heading straight to my wool bin when I'm finished here, thanks to your inspiration.

I just reposted one of the first pieces I wrote when I started blogging last November. You were kind enough to welcome me into blogland and I so appreciated it. I can't imagine why I have come back so infrequently, but I mean to do better in the future...:)
