Daydreaming

I sent this antique late 19th century jar to a dear blog friend and it has arrived safely into her hands...

Its aqua hues always stirred memories of collecting water polished pieces of glass along the beach as a child... daydreaming that they were jewels from a mermaid's necklace.
The tiny bubbles so delicately suspended in it's making were captivating...
Whatever garden delights it once held it has been passed on to another to enjoy.

Maddie is upon a rock looking out across the water... with her keen sense of hearing perhaps she can distinguish that very mermaid singing... calling out for all to find her treasured jewels.

Mermaids, ocean spume caught in glass - such lovely images from your blog.
I'm in Ontario this week and loving it. I forget how beautiful this province is....and then I come back for a visit and a little remembering.

I just bet Miss Maddie is listening to the song of the ocean and mermaids. Lovely pictures and what a lucky girl to spend time at such a beautiful place. I'm sure that jar will evoke just as many wonderful images in its new home.

Deary me...such lovely memories I have of gathering sea glass along the shore as a child. Sparkly treasures from the sea fairies. Perhaps Miss Maddie will sing you a mermaid lullaby this very eve.

Lovely wishes to you ...

I'm pretty sure Maddie is feeling quite big on that rock listening to the songs of the mermaids. She seems very pleased with herself.
I bet your friend is loving her beautiful jar. Maybe she has filled it with a lovely bouquet and set it on her sill. I'm sure of that too.

Susan, I don't know how I missed this post - but I'm so glad I popped over today.

Thoughts of daydreaming out to sea and the possibilities of seeing mermaids have tansported me away. I have been yearning for the sea a lot recently.

Maddie looks beautiful on the rocks. The light is very special in these photos ....

Your friend must adore her gift - its beautiful.
