Living in a vast fruit belt affords one the chance to prosper twice in a season...
Once from the beauty of the blooms that paint the orchards endless shades of pinks and whites and again later in the Summer when the luscious cherries and peaches droop from the branches...
I am not the only one smitten by all this blossoming, French, Austrian and Prussian china makers
once hand-painted their delicate porcelain wares in similar adoring motifs...
Alas Spring in all her glory...

It looks like spring has well and truly arrived in your part of the country. I heard from my sister on Monday that she'd taken a house in your town, for a little peace and quiet for writing-to-deadline. I can't think of a better place to be!

You are certainly blessed to live amongst so much beauty. I think when the fruit trees blossom has got to be the loveliest time of year. I think maybe it is because of the length of our winters that make it so. I do love the old Prussian patterns.
I was sorry to see the loss of the beautiful old tree at your place. What a storm that must have been. We had 50 mph winds a few days this Spring, and I worry so much about the damage...which is out of my control too. I always worry during storms becaues we live in a pre-fab home and they are not the best or sturdiest in a storm.

What a lovely, lovely post, Susan. Your china and blooms are just beautiful. I'm sorry about all of the wind damage you have had...that was one majestic tree that came down. We are surrounded by old walnut trees that are just a few feet away from out house and I worry a lot about high winds.

But I'm so sorry about the wonderful old tree - that must have been some storm and the poor empty nests - I could weep. Nature can be so cruel.
