Contentment

Several times a week my travels take me past a small hobby farm where the early morning sunlight casts a silhouette of ethereal beauty. The horses have come from the barn quietly in the wee dawn hours to linger in the paddock.

Do they dream of the open plains and endless grasslands or are they content to graze in the emerald green pasture, daydreaming of sugar cubes and apples?

Perhaps we should take note of their contentment...

A lovely post and I adore your job! I can see after a time at it there would come a dilemma as to what to purge and what to collect...very difficult task I would imagine. I have a question for you...the mirror on your side bar....does it have a name. I found it in the garbage in the garbage it was tossed out by the local Antique shop .It only needs a small molding repair and it as good as new. Hope you can help.

Enjoy uncovering the forgotten treasures.

Hugs Annabelle

How to become truly contented, in 'our' paddock? And learn to no longer yearn for 'our' form of open and endless plains? Oh my yes! This has been uppermost in my mind, for a time now. But I haven't known how to blog about it.

Perhaps, if I use this post of yours as an intro -- I can post about it.

Thank you much,
Aunt Amelia

Contentment...horses seem to me to be one of the most content animals, grazing quietly in the paddock!!! I had never thought of this Susan...and yes I have taken note of it...and no doubt will think of this post next time I happen upon them...Thank you for pointing this out...Dzintra♥x

My quick hop over to see who Miss Maddie might be has ended up being a good hour, lost in your stories and pictures. What a treat this has been.
Of course, like many, I'll comment "That is a dream job!"

I love your part of the country - we make it to the Shaw Festival every other summer and one of my biggest pleasures is to get up early in the morning and walk through the charming neighbourhoods, looking at the houses and gardens.
