I have often heard pieces of lace, snippets of ribbon, ruffles and pink glitter referred to as girly things...

Be it paintings of Victorian children, delicate whitework quilts or yes even Prada handbags... these material items we covet bring a sense of euphoria to our sometimes everyday lives.

They can encourage an enrichment or appreciation for the delicate brushstrokes which cover the canvas, the detailed fine hand-stitching of a vintage gown, the master craftsmanship of a dollmaker or the quality design put into the tiniest detail of the things we love...
girly things.

"Sugar and spice, and everything nice..." your photo of the lovely girlie things depict it perfectly! I love that little pink purse too. I saw a lovely little purse at the flea market last weekend. It looked similar, but was cream colored. I would have bought it, but it had a large ink stain on it and I wasn't sure I could get it out. Do you have any tricks for getting ink out of lovely things? xxVicki

Who can resist a little sparkle, a little tuck or a pouffy bow? This post was the perfect antidote for a foggy fall afternoon.
