Partiality

Hand-dyed variegated silk ribbon

There are many colours that occur both naturally and manufactured...

I would have to admit that I have a fondness for the infinite shades of teal.

Ranging from the deepest tones of a peacock feather to the subtle bluish green of a robin's egg... I find it revealing its partiality throughout the home.

Fat quarter fabric pieces for an upcoming quilting project.

I agree, the colours are beautiful. And this year I have even bought tights in a deep teal colour, I so love it!

I am with you there Susan! These colors in your home are beautiful. Wow, I love that pitcher!...and that gravyboat is amazing. I cannot believe that color on your cabinet, it is so pretty. I find that I am drawn to these very colors right now in my decor as well. I'm always so torn between these subtle shades and an all neutral palette, but color always seems to win out.
Beautiful pictures!
Hugs,
June

For those of you that have adored the container that the white cyclamen is in ... it is an antique biscuit barrel that long ago got separated from it's lid. Perfect size for a dainty potted plant.

I love the shade of blue of the eggs that our Auricana hens lay - perfection!
I'm more or less in your neck of the woods this week, visiting my son in Kingston, before heading to a conference in Ottawa. I love the colours of fall in Kingston, and we have been blessed with incredible weather the past few days....so I've been getting my fill of limestone houses with brightly painted doors.

Your photos and words are always so beautiful and poignant Susan. I love teal. Its has such a peaceful calming effect on any scene, indoors or out. The eggs in nest are striking. I want to reach out and touch them... when I know I must leave them alone. (: I love your beautiful gravy boat too.

Teal also makes me think of certain mountain lakes (like Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada) or the water in tropical places around our big world. ~ Vicki
