Winter Beckons

The official start of Winter is but days away...
This solstice is shrouded in mystery; harsh and cold one moment, gentle and soft the next.

It is a season of walks through the woods snow crunching accompanying each step, starlit nights reflecting off the crystal blanket beneath, homemade soup simmering on the stove, a fire in the hearth and knitting in hand to while away the long evenings...

A kittie cozy I'm working on for Christmas... lined in vintage chenille it is a perfect place for a cat to snuggle in.

I think Winter looks magical in your neck of the woods. And I think there would be nothing more perfect than knitting up a little something for sweet kitty. Everything you have said about the Winter here in your lovely post are the very things I love about the season as well. What I love about it, is that life seems to slow down and I really get back in touch with who I am.

it looks so pretty there Susan...we have the smallest dusting of snow on the ground...speaking of kitties, you asked how i am keeping mine out of the tree...the answer is: i'm not!! i have found him in there several times, he takes naps on the branches if you can believe that...luckily none of my ornaments have been knocked off...i learned my lesson the first year we had him...and i have everything really anchored on well

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment you left for me. That really maked me smile. I think we all love to hear that others enjoy the pictures we post.
That sweet little pillow is a creation of Patience Brewster's. I found it in a little shop in a town near me. I didn't find it until after Christmas 2 years ago, but that means I got it for 60% off. Sometimes it pays to be late.lol

Beautiful photos of your snow...but a seat by the fire is my preference. Knitting is something I haven't learned...maybe I should give it a try for those long winter days ahead!

The pictures of snow are so beautiful! The walk in the snow sounds lovely:). We have chilly temps and rain today so it is a great day to stay inside with a cup of hot tea.

Blessings,

Kim

Your photos are beautiful Susan and as ever your words are magical and comforting ... I always feel calm and soothed when I visit your wonderful blog. We too have had snow and it's bitterly cold - your soup and hearth sounds very inviting! I adore your kitty cozy and I know two little furry ones who would love to snuggle up in one of those!

Solstice blessings. Jeanne x

what a beautiful place your corner of the woods is...
and I love the kitty cosy...I'm sure your kitties will love it.
I know my Willow & Pumpkin would be trying it on while it was being knitted. It's really lovely.

Love the kitty cozy. It looks so warm. Can you make me one about 6 feet wide?
