A Little Bit of Everything

Auction season is in full swing ... every weekend finds me in a different place either setting up for a sale or sorting and cataloging the next one.

I did purchase a little booklet the other day that I would like to recommend to those with a passion for Jane Austen... delightfully small it is a quick read and full of wonderful illustrations. Perfect to peruse when one is running hither and fro.

Back on the knitting front I've gone nutty for nests, a delightful way to make use of those half skeins that are lying about and they'll make sweet receptacles for some Easter treats.

And of course as you can see Madelaine is just thrilled with the arrival of Spring.

Enjoy this last week of March...

I love the idea of making nests with my leftover bits of fuzz and fluff - thanks for that!
I wish I could follow you to an auction one day. I imagine that it would a lot of fun to see the bits, bobs and treasures! Alas, this year there'll be no trip to NOTL for the Shaw, although SIL once again has a show there.

How wonderful to go to auctions every weekend, I know its your job but even so ... heaven!
So that's what you did with those left-over skeins - an inspired idea to make Easter nests, they are charming - as is Madelaine of course - what a sweetie!

Have a wonderful weekend Susan and a successful auction.

what sweet little nests!
and in every pale sherbet-y spring hues too.
yes, little Madeleine looks like she has settled in for a nap inside her nest. Something tells me she is quite the comfort kitten.

Auction season... just the thought of all the goodies you get to see and touch sounds wonderful!

I don't think I've commented on your sidebar... I love the photo of the loaded clothesline (just above that cute little Madelaine... and of course in the current post she looks darling too!)

Your knitted nests are perfect little cozies for kids who will be hunting for Easter sweets. I bet there will be some happy little ones around you on Easter Sunday. (:

Awww, Madelaine does look thrilled that Spring has arrived! I'm happy for you too, after your long winter.
Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll be checking online for it.
Clever and wonderful idea of using all the "leftovers" to make something soft and pretty. Have fun at the auctions this weekend!

To knit a nest so sweet makes you a mother bird that I would want to belong to.

Your dear little Madeleine is a precious little being, oh my.

And indeed, Fashion in the Time of Jane Austen is one little book I shall be on the lookout for. Thank you for sharing.
