Lofty Outlook

As Summer begins to prepare for her exit... with darkness beckoning sooner on the horizon,

The flowering of chrysanthemums ,

apples ruby red and sweet dangling in the orchard, we begin to change our daily rituals...

As we journey through these days of promise and reflection one can not help but notice the sun shining on a grassy knoll,

the clouds beginning to appear dark and brooding... alas the prelude to Autumn is upon us.

* A group of cormorants perched in their favourite tree, overlooking the mighty Niagara River.

* Historic Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake was also most willing to relinquish its beauty for several of the photos.

Beautiful photography! The evenings are beginning to draw in and, yes, we have rosy red apples hanging by their thread, on a tree just outside our cottage window. It's been warm, but there is still a nip in the air when the clouds hide the sun. Enjoy! Ros

Those apples!
I imagine that you must be able to smell the apples and grapes on the air down there on the peninsula.
I'm in Kingston this week, visiting the children, and fall is definitely peeking from around the corner.

Summer does seem to be fading fast although I'm not quite ready to let it go yet ... however I love the change of the seasons and look forward to the bounties of Autumm.

Those apples look delicious Susan - lovely photos, as ever.

oh look at your lovely cats! So beautiful!
Siamese are strange creatures, but they keep life interesting don't they!
Raymond is currently trying to sleep on my lap as I type and disturb him terribly.
I loved your nostalgic post... reflecting on what it is like for you as summer comes our way!
One thing I love about blogging is being in touch with the rest of the world, it puts life into perspective! NZ can be quite isolated from the rest of the world, so I enjoyed seeing your pictures!

lovely pictures. This summer has been so very hot here in the North-East. So I am ready for fall, but I will miss the pool.
The apple picture is my favorite.
We live in "apple country".I can not wait for the new harvest.

Beautiful photos Susan. If Fall were not so beautiful, it would be more difficult for me to let go of Summer. But I love the changes of the seasons, and Autumn is so lovely with it's many colors.
Thank you for such lovely words that you left for me today. It meant so much to have you understand my blessing.
hugs
