Vision

Sometimes one feels they can not see the forest for the trees...

But by setting one's sights on the facets that lie closer to your field of view opportunities of delicate beauty are revealed.

As the high pitched thrill of the cicadas echo overhead the penetrating rays of sunshine dance with wild abandonment on the growth below.
Queen Anne's lace yields her flowers to a passing bumblebee.

The ochre yellow Goldenrod begins swaying courtesy of a gentle zephyr.

The regal thistle with her crown of purple stretches skyward.

There is much to see beneath the canopy of trees... one needs only to linger for a short time to savour its delight...

Hi, Susan-

really wonderful forest pictures.

The thistle looks great and I like the view to the lake. I love lakes in the forest- they have a special green.

Last week we visited the "Black Forest" here. There are beautiful houses and it looks, like walking through a fairytaleforest.

We tested the stroller for the doggiebaby and it was good :-)

I hope, you feel good- thank you for sharing your impressions...

A big hug- especially to Miss Maddie-

Sometimes one needs to focus on the smallest leaf in order to get clarity - but then one walks out into a clearing and looks back at the forest and understands it all. Whatever - the photos are beautiful. I haven't heard a cicada for years.

Beautiful photos!
The cicada's here this year are extremely loud. The meadow and trees are full of them making their presence known.

Lovely post as always.

How I love the glimpse of the lake through the trees!

Your words are so true...sometimes, 'It is hard to to see the wood for the trees.'

Beautiful post Susan and how true it is. Often I miss so much because of all the noise around me.

A beautiful contemplative post Susan. One can so easily ignore what is right in front of our eyes when walking through a forest - our eyes are naturally drawn upwards to the canopy of trees above. I love the thistle.
The sound of cicadas always remind me of my travels abroad.
