Shades of Autumn

Some things occur that bring gladness to our hearts...

such is the colours of Autumn....

Buttery yellows, sunshine oranges and ghostly whites are some of the shades found in this years crop of gourds from my garden.

Even my knitting reflects the beauty of the landscape, from the subtle hue of the grape, to the ochre and taupes of the field...such a glorious season to enjoy.

What a lovely post! I totally agree with your sentiments. Gourds are just the most intriguing things to grow. I just love them and always try to have some around the house as decoration during the autumn months. Like you, I adore the autumn colours. Your yarn is gorgeous. Have a lovely weekend. Ros

Your writing is so lovely, I appreciate how the seasons share themselves through color. The second photo is beautiful, it is inspiring these gourds were harvested from your garden! Enjoy this new season xo

Autumn is my favorite, hands down!
As if I didn't have enough fun in Ontario, on Monday I'm heading back for work in Cornwall and a side visit to the son and his family. I love southern Ontario in early fall!

Beautiful pictures. I am lovin' the gourds. They scream Autumn, don't they? By the looks of that knitting, you are creating something really beautiful. Something that you can sport this Fall? Fall is slow in coming here this year, just like Summer was late. Everything is still so green and the garden is blooming like crazy. It rained all day though, and that is a sure sign of Fall here.
I can only imagine how beautiful it is there where you live in the Fall of the year.
hugs to you dear friend...

GORGEOUS!!! What wonderful photos... makes me want to jump on a plane and be there to see it all with you! Love the beautiful yarn you are working with. Are you knitting the three girls (and perhaps the beautiful red boy who visits?) a sweater for the cold? Or maybe a fluffy scarf for those times you are in drafty old barns at the sales?
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.... thinking of you here (maybe I need a piece of PIE to go with all of those sweet thoughts?!)

Those gourds are amazing Susan - their strange texture and indeed the colours. They sum up Autumn and the many jewelled colours of the season. I love September and I'm looking forward to some clear-blue sky and sunny autumn days.
