Frozen In Time

The garden has settled into a deep sleep protected by a blanket of new fallen snow...

There are remnants of seasons past. The paperlike withered petals of a pink English rose late to have made her appearance in November...

Clematis seedpods that appear like gossamer petticoats befitting a fairy...

Even the birdbath with its delicate layer of ice lies awaiting the return of the frolicking birds...

The seed catalogues have begun to arrive and the gardening magazines will be soon to follow...

The essence of Spring is only a daydream away...

* Even a quickknit shawl reflects the coolness of ice crystals. The shawl pin that will be the finishing touch is from Pat at www.gardenofweedingirl.etsy.com

Gorgeous colours in that beautiful shawl Susan, with the lovely reminders of seed catalogues and peaceful pictures of the snow isn't it a dreamy time of the year xxx

These languid post-holiday days always seem to me like time frozen in a droplet of water - we don't know how long the suspended time will last before the thaws start and life surges forth. I can imagine a few more cosy hours spent wrapped in the beautiful shawl.

Such pretty knitting and gorgeous photographs!
The Clematis seeds are so enchanting I've not come across them before, they DO look like Faeries tutu's!

Lovely ice whites and a touch of blue are resolant with the stillness that must pervade your world right now. Evocative photos Susan, especially the very pretty pattern in the bird bath. How I would love to cosy up in that beautiful shawl.
